The PCICS Advanced Practice Provider Curriculum is a compilation of peer-reviewed, evidence-based education modules containing detailed information and recommended reading on topics necessary for managing CICU/acute care patients. Through this curriculum, PCICS aims to standardize and endorse an education curriculum for advanced practice providers working in pediatric cardiac intensive/acute care units.


Course Objectives
  • Provide a comprehensive review of the content in the PCICS Advanced Practice Provider Curriculum book, which is a compilation of peer-reviewed, evidence-based education modules containing detailed information and recommended reading on topics necessary for managing CICU patients.
    • Topics include anatomy, physiology, and management of congenital heart disease lesions, post-operative complications, heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation, EKG interpretation and arrhythmia management, and mechanical ventilation.
  • Facilitate application of knowledge to the management of patients in simulation scenarios.
  • Standardize the education of advanced practice providers working in pediatric cardiac intensive/acute care units.

Accreditation

This program is accredited for 20 NAPNAP CE contact hours, of which 4 contain pharmacology (Rx) content per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Continuing Education Guidelines.

Registration fee includes a copy of the curriculum.
